None of the Ragnaud-Sabourin cognacs are blended between years; they are all matured as vintages. They are also completely unadulterated with no artificial colours or sweeteners added. This is a Grande Champagne XO, packaged in a stunning decanter and aged for 25 years.
Floral nose, with blossom, some sweetness, rose petals jelly.
Musty wood, spices, oak-led vanilla, fruit, very soft.
Long and elegant with gentle tannins.

Lots of sweet fruits on the nose. A little spice follows. In the mouth, really well rounded fruit, just a little sweetness. Very smooth and a long finish with some vanilla.
I am new to Cognac but it is has always been a drink that I have been intrigued by so decided to test my palate with a few samples. After tasting some of the top XO's I found that I enjoyed the smoother Cognac's like this particular one. I have tasted 8 different Cognacs 7 of those XO's and this one has to be my favourite. The nose is so fruity and floral with honey and a little spice. On the palate I got soft fruit, light honey vanilla and caramel. The finish was not spicy like some of the other XO's and it left a glorious warm feeling on the back of the throat. I think I have found the Cognac for me, I will be ordering a bottle for Xmas.
