A 10 year old Armenian brandy from the Ararat brand. The Yerevan Brandy Company even has its own cooperage to create the barrels to age their rich, spicy brandies.

Nose

Sweet, spicy nose. Hints of vanilla and plum jam. Toffee and a little potpourri.

Palate

Rounded, creamy palate entry. Notes of sultanas and creamy vanilla. Dried apricots.

Finish

Cinnamon and toasted oak.

Among the world's best for the money

Simply cannot overpraise this stuff. A duty in my little home bar. Rich, nuanced, balanced - from the first smell to the staying aftertaste. The only non-whisky drink which I respect as much as some relatively advanced single malts.

Beautiful stuff

Beautiful stuff but sadly hard to find in the UK. Sweeter than Cognac and more similar to eastern European and Central Asian brandies. The distillery in Yerevan is certainly worth a tour.

My God, what a discovery! Don't get stuck with the overpriced brandy from Cognac region, Ararat 10yo is a superb drink, creamy and very characterful.

fantastic

I love this brandy! Very flowery, full of flavor, smooth, really just a little touch of fire. Style of Ararat brandys seems to be completely different from other brands, this is perfect specimen of the style.
