This first batch from Walthamstow's Burnt Faith distillery is made from eaux-de-vie distilled in France and aged in England in a mixture of Spanish brandy, bourbon, Pineau des Charentes and cherry liqueur casks. The result is a distinctive brandy with a lot of complexity for the money, perfect for sipping neat or in cocktails like a Brandy Sour or a Brandy & Soda.
Lots of fruit here with dark cherries with chocolate, toffee, ginger and other spices.
Good freshness here, aromatic and fruity with sweeter notes like dark chocolate, caramel and a little nuttiness.
Clean and fruity with a lingering nuttiness.
This is really dissapointing. Brandy is stretching the definition. Rough, one dimensional and really nothing to the palate but a burnt wood taste. The bottle is visually beautiful, but the contents are worse than any rotgut I've ever had. I wouldn't try this ever again.
I don’t drink this myself but I got some for my husband and he loves it! I have purchased another one as a stocking filler for Christmas for him.
Took me by surprise how great tasting this was.
A refined, delicious drop. I’m normally a Cognac drinker but this new British Brandy is tremendous. Smooth and fruity.
My new favourite Brandy - and really cool that its made in London!
