Ah yes, it’s that time of year once again when Drinks by the Dram reveal their selection of fantastic spirits-filled advent calendars!

The Entire Range is Now Available for Pre-Order here. (Estimated despatch late October.)

As well as all your favourites such as The Whisky Advent Calendar and Ginvent Calendar (from the dream team of Drinks by the Dram and Gin Foundry), which are both back for a fourth year, 2015 sees the range extended with a dedicated Bourbon Calendar plus Rum, Cognac, Armagnac, Tequila, Mezcal, Vodka, Absinthe and erm… Naga Chilli Vodka calendars (the latter getting hotter each day!)

It’s #MasterofCocktails time again folks! This week we’re putting together a supremely refreshing drink – one which you absolutely must try if you haven’t already.

A long drink made with tequila and grapefruit, god only knows why this isn’t more widely available to be honest. This week we’ll be making a Paloma. It’s a Mexican number that translates as the ‘dove’, all you really need to know though is that you want one. They’re yummy.

By heck! It’s nearly Christmas – better make some Margaritas!

Yep, something like that…

So, I’m sure you’ll all be familiar with this classic tequila cocktail, but it’s one that’s so often poorly made. Well, we’ve had quite enough of that. For last night’s #MasterofCocktails recipe we decided to tackle the problem once and for all!

There are a couple of things to consider and to take care of in advance, but after that it’s a nice simple build.

Once upon a beginning, the folks of the world drew chalk lines on their doors to physically count down the first 24 days of December. These days that seems a rather sad thought, more reminiscent of a prisoner counting the days they’ve been locked up than a celebration of the festive season. Pretty miserable really. (That is, unless you’re lucky enough to share a cell with comedy legend Ronnie Barker!) It was some time before some bright spark decided that using candles would be rather less bleak. I mean, candles, they’re okay aren’t they?
