Toki Black
Presented by Japan's House of Suntory, Toki Black includes peated malt from Hakushu and rare grain from the same distillery for added depth, alongside whisky from Yamazaki and Chita. Superb in Highballs and citrus-forward cocktails.
Tasting Notes
Nose:
Baked apple, oregano and honeysuckle.
Palate:
Butterscotch sweetness with complex notes of clove, cinnamon, lavender and toasted rosemary.
Finish:
A sweet finish with white pepper, ginger and a gentle lingering smokiness.
Toki Black Ginger Sour
- 2 Parts Toki Black
- ¾ part Lemon
- ¾ part Honey Syrup*
- 1 Slice Fresh Ginger
*Mix equal parts honey and hot water until the honey is fully dissolved to make your own honey syrup.
Garnish: Orange Peel
Glass: Cocktail Glass/Coupette
Method: Shake
- Add all ingredients to a shaker and add ice
- Shake hard for 10 Seconds
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass
- Garnish with orange peel
Toki Classic Highball
45 ml Toki Blended Japanese Whisky
- 3 parts premium soda water
- Grapefruit slice or lemon peel
Step 1: Fill a glass with ice and let chill
Step 2 Pour chilled whisky
Step 3: Stir
Step 4: Add chilled soda (3- 4 parts soda to 1 part whisky)
Step 5: Give a single stir from bottom to top with a bar spoon
Step 6: Add a twist of grapefruit or lemon citrus
