What's in a name? Tomatin 18 Year Old (Old Bottling) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Tomatin 18 Year Old (Old Bottling) whiskey, rather than whisky.
This is the softest dram I have ever tasted (although I hav not had too many). There is very rich sherry, vanilla, almonds, dried apricots, hazelnuts. Yet in its palate, and in its finish even more, there is an interesting little punch of peat. Very pleasant. Easy, but not dull.
