Whisky or Whiskey

Insider knowledge: Dalmore 20 Year Old 1990 - Old Malt Cask (Douglas Laing) whisky is named whisky by virtue of the fact it's from Scotland. If distilled in America the spelling would be Dalmore 20 Year Old 1990 - Old Malt Cask (Douglas Laing) whiskey, as opposed to whisky.

Dalmore 20 OMC Bottling Note

Distilled at Dalmore in January 1990 and aged in a refill butt and finished in Amontillado sherry butt number 6054 before bottling in 2010 April. A release of 455 bottles from Douglas Laing's Old Malt Cask range.

Dalmore 20 OMC Tasting Note

Nose: Nutty and big on thick, sweet malt. Wine gums, powerful, muscular sort of oak, very elegant with a hint of potpourri and general woodiness.
Palate: Beeswax and honey-sweet too. Dry oak, loads of spices, like an apothecary, and nutmeg and cinnamon.
Finish: A touch of cough syrup, plenty of nutty, rancio-like sherry too.
