What's in a name? North British 30 Year Old 1979 - The Clan Denny (Douglas Laing) whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled North British 30 Year Old 1979 - The Clan Denny (Douglas Laing) whiskey, rather than whisky.
This is a wonderful whisky. I bought one a few months ago and I'm already halfway through it.
The nose is very fruity, vanilla, raspberries.
The palate is a bit oily. Spices, sweetness and very nutty. Since it's 54,2% I would definately recommend adding a splash of water. You can actually add a lot of water it won't drown easily.
The finish is quite long, with orange zest and surtain smoothness.
