Insider knowledge: North British 30 Year Old 1979 - The Clan Denny (Douglas Laing) whisky is named whisky by virtue of the fact it's from Scotland. If distilled in America the spelling would be North British 30 Year Old 1979 - The Clan Denny (Douglas Laing) whiskey, as opposed to whisky.
This is a wonderful whisky. I bought one a few months ago and I'm already halfway through it.
The nose is very fruity, vanilla, raspberries.
The palate is a bit oily. Spices, sweetness and very nutty. Since it's 54,2% I would definately recommend adding a splash of water. You can actually add a lot of water it won't drown easily.
The finish is quite long, with orange zest and surtain smoothness.
