Blended Scotch - to 15 Yrs - 2013
San Francisco World Spirits Competition
What's in a name? Hankey Bannister 12 Year Old Regency whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Hankey Bannister 12 Year Old Regency whiskey, rather than whisky.
There is top note peat and smoke and some well balanced quality robust malts, but it does not quite have the sublime integration of JW Black. It is being discounted by my local supermarket and is excellent value. If you like JW Black you will love this one. Sir Winston knew his whiskys.
