What's in a name? Glenglassaugh 33 Year Old 1978 - Madeira Style Wine Cask Finish whisky is called whisky because it's produced in Scotland. Were it from America it would be spelled Glenglassaugh 33 Year Old 1978 - Madeira Style Wine Cask Finish whiskey, rather than whisky.
I'm the "Pricey ... but outstanding!" reviewer. I rated it a 10. Don't know how it came out as a 9-star.

A very interesting dram. Candied fruit on the nose. Very rich in fruit and zesty spice on the palate. A long finish, where the Madeira cask reveals itself fully. I bought the 3 cl sample and will likely go for a full bottle (though I'm still mulling it over). Yeah it's pricey, but I have found it tough to get this kind of complexity in a cheaper whisky.
