This Adelphi Balmenach was distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2012 from a refill bourbon hogshead which produced 170 bottles.
Lots of apples here, particularly tarte tatin, morphing into a slightly tart crab apple note.
Estery flavours abound. We have more apples, fresh this time, with banana and almond, balanced by an enveloping syrup sweetness.
Fairly short with a balanced bitter edge.
A crisp, after dinner whisky capable of livening up a tired palate.
