Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 1991

A 17 year old bottling from the Balmenach distillery, a truly superb, sherried Speysider, this 1991 vintage exudes farmy freshness, feint notes and a cereal sweetness with excellent balance throughout.
The nose is light and well-balanced with a softness. Cereal notes and juicy barley sugars dominate with a herbal note and straw and dried ropes hang from the rafters. There are notes of dried leather and a farm note. The palate is of good body with a smoothness. The sweetness is firmly ingrained with feints, calves leather and cigar box, rolling tobacco and cut hay with a touch of wood smoke. The finish is of medium-length and quite smooth.
