La Penca Mezcal Bottling Note
A Joven (young) Mezcal, La Penca is distilled from Salmaina (a type of Maguey agave) and it's aged in white oak barrels and bottled in a lovely hand blown bottle, complete with the prerequisite: a worm! (Con Gusano means "with a worm").
no hang over
Manages to combine and almost Isla-single-malt-like smokiness with a lovely smooth sweetness... Far nicer than mezcals costing significantly more. I'm on my second bottle already :-)

very good quality for the price, prefer it to the new release 40%. works great as a flavour modifier in classics (try with equal parts talisker in a rob roy!) and stands alone too. loves sour/sweet alike.

absolutely delicious, has a smokey taste, not for mixing just for straight shots.
