It's arrived! Last year's release of this incredible Rye was Jim Murray's 2010 World Whisky of the Year, quite an accolade. We couldn't wait to try the 2009 release of Sazerac 18, and we weren't let down! An amazing whiskey from Buffalo Trace!

This was distilled in the Spring of 1985 from a selection of Minnesota Rye, Kentucky Corn and North Dakota Malted Barley. This sour mash rye came off the still at 135 proof, it was reduced to 125 proof before filling into a 53 gallon, new white oak barrel, which was built by Independent Stave and charred for 55 seconds. The 56.13% of the original whiskey was lost to the angel’s share. This is a small batch rye, blended from 28 hand selected barrels.  More info
