This single malt was treated to a four-year stay in a Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead, which was cracked open by That Boutique-y Whisky Company for its World of Smoke collection. Glorious layers of oily malt and hearty spice cushion elegant whispers of smoke that rest comfortably beneath, a most impressive dram.
Batch 3 is a release of 153 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Fresh, crusty bread, treacly syrup, and stewed, spiced fruits, with rich oak char, liquorice, hints of red berries, and a touch of earthy peat right down in the depths.
A lick of toffee joins candied ginger warmth, with toasted notes of woody spice and silky caramel in tow. Cooked apples join notes of clove and anise, with smoked meat nestling beneath.
Berry sweetness, grilled stone fruits, fennel, vanilla ice cream, and a tickle of pepper, alongside oily malt, burnt butter, wafts of smouldering embers, and sherried oak.
