The latest Yoichi single malt will replace both the previous NAS release and the remaining age statement whiskies. The change comes as demand continues to stretch Nikka's aged stock, with this new Yoichi Single Malt (made of of whiskies of various ages) aimed at representing this special distillery's direct-coal-heated, peated yet fruity style.
*UK (excluding Channel Islands) and retail only. Offer from 23 05 2025, while stock lasts.
There’s a lot of fruits in the form of lemon, pears, and white grapes.
Tons and tons of fruits. Kumquat, pineapple, pears and citrus all come out. The citrus is a mix of yuzu and satsuma oranges. A lovely malt note comes through as well. Overall, it has a very heavy worm tub whisky texture.
Medium in length. There’s the slightest trace of acetone here. Some chocolate dust pops in here and again along with orange peels, bergamont, and kumquats.
I do not buy no age statement whiskies as a rule of thumb. But this one is worth breaking this and a few other rules. It is complex, yet still spirity, defo has some old and some young whisky in it. Nicely blended indeed. Expensive, but worth money. It should make scotch producers feel bad about their stuff. This is how scotch should taste.
Good stuff, Yoichi never fails to hit the spot. Explains why the Nikka's blended efforts are so good.
Smooth and well bodied single malt. Brought it back from Tokyo..
This is a fantastic whisky. If you love the age statement Yoichis then you will love this.
