The latest Yoichi single malt will replace both the previous NAS release and the remaining age statement whiskies. The change comes as demand continues to stretch Nikka's aged stock, with this new Yoichi Single Malt (made of of whiskies of various ages) aimed at representing this special distillery's direct-coal-heated, peated yet fruity style.
*UK (excluding Channel Islands) and retail only. Offer from 23 05 2025, while stock lasts.
There’s a lot of fruits in the form of lemon, pears, and white grapes.
Tons and tons of fruits. Kumquat, pineapple, pears and citrus all come out. The citrus is a mix of yuzu and satsuma oranges. A lovely malt note comes through as well. Overall, it has a very heavy worm tub whisky texture.
Medium in length. There’s the slightest trace of acetone here. Some chocolate dust pops in here and again along with orange peels, bergamont, and kumquats.
Nice and peaty but pretty soft in mouth with a relatively weak finish imo...long but untasty
What a good whisky. Flavors come in waves and are bright and clean. Light peaty smoke for those who loke some char. Clean finish that lends itself to having another sip and experiencing it all again. Fantastic.
Extremely love it, surprised from Japan.
Have to disagree with the overwhelming love of this whiskey, it is not a bad dram but the finish is disappointing for the price point and leaves me wanting more. At this price it should deliver a far more memorable drink than it does. I chose this as a birthday present from my son but will not be returning to buy another bottle, which speaks volumes as far as I am concerned.
Bought it today in Kyoto. Small local liquoir shop. 4200 yen. Amazing price for incredibly smooth whisky with nice dry finish.
