Yamazaki is Suntory's flagship single malt whisky, from Japan's first and oldest malt distillery. This 12 year old first came onto the market in 1984 and was the first seriously marketed Japanese single malt whisky. Since then, it has acquired something of a cult following, and for good reason! A wonderfully elegant and smooth single malt that’s certainly not lacking in flavour.
Good body with plenty of nut oils and zest, a pleasant floral character with a little tropical fruit and a rooty note.
Smooth and soft with good sweetness and winter spice. A lovely citrus note develops with more tropical fruit notes and a little rum.
Medium with fruit and zest.

One of the best whiskies to come out of Japan, probably one of the more expensive bottles in my cabinet but well worth the price tag. Smooth, gentle yet complex.
I think 12 year old Yamaziki single malt is fabulous....I have tried many different kinds and areas of Scotland's delicacy in a bottle but I have to say.....none were better than this brand....granted I have many more to try....many were just as good....
It's a nice whisky, but nothing special. I'd rather spend more for the 18 year old.
The Toyota of whisky but priced like Benz. Easy, smooth, consistent and reliable to the point of flawless. Don't expect to it to knock Ur socks off. During my whisky infancy days, I simply adored. As time goes by my palate has grown and became more demanding. Give me a Springbank Cask Strenght 12 anytime(half price). Now this is what I called a whisky that over delivered in spades.
