Here we have Suntory’s multi award-winning Japanese single malt from Yamazaki, the oldest whisky distillery in Japan. The single malt was launched in 1992, and around 80% of the liquid is matured in sherry butts, while the remaining whisky spent its years in American and Mizunara oak casks. An absolutely stunning marriage of fruit, oak and smoky notes, it’s really no wonder why it won so many awards!
*UK (excluding Channel Islands) and retail only. Offer from 01 08 2025, while stock lasts.
Truffles, thick bitter marmalade and resin. Potpourri and heavy Oloroso sherry.
A rich, bittersweet palate with heather roots, cigar leaves, honey, toffee apples, plum wine and black pepper. A touch of rancio, perhaps…
Long, fruity, marmalade-led finish.
I've been fortunate to find this in two bars in my travels around this realm. THE most wonderful whisky even if I can only stretch to a glass or two.
Some guy who knows who he was, showed up at one of the gathering event with one of this 18y, 10 of us finished it on site like no big deal, 3 years already I can still remember the flavour the long finish the smoothness the sweet the easy liquid gold from the beginning to the end, that was delight day for me, he was crying for some unknown reason.
At first you look at the price and think what!?? But then you taste it and go “oh my god, fair enough”
The best.
Disregarding the price, it is great. Let’s think about it this way, for 1/10 of the price of the yamazaki 25, you get something taste better than yamazaki 25, it is a steal.
