Here we have Suntory’s multi award-winning Japanese single malt from Yamazaki, the oldest whisky distillery in Japan. The single malt was launched in 1992, and around 80% of the liquid is matured in sherry butts, while the remaining whisky spent its years in American and Mizunara oak casks. An absolutely stunning marriage of fruit, oak and smoky notes, it’s really no wonder why it won so many awards!
*UK (excluding Channel Islands) and retail only. Offer from 01 08 2025, while stock lasts.
Truffles, thick bitter marmalade and resin. Potpourri and heavy Oloroso sherry.
A rich, bittersweet palate with heather roots, cigar leaves, honey, toffee apples, plum wine and black pepper. A touch of rancio, perhaps…
Long, fruity, marmalade-led finish.
Lucked out and got it from Master of Malt, but so hard to find. One of the best Japanese whisky’s you can get your hands on if you’re lucky.
Big step up from the 12. One of my favorites!
Unimpressive, hot on the nose, and certainly not worth the price of admission. I have enjoyed a number of single malts with far more depth and character at a fraction of the cost. Moving on...
A little bit better than 12, basic flavors are same but more round deep. A little bit smoother u will feel it. But i did not like only bitterness at the end it still in my mouth after 15 minutes, some may like small bitterness like from ipa beer. If i choose btw 12 and 18 its 18 definitely, its piece of Art.
Excellent
