Woodford Reserve's Kentucky Straight Rye whiskey has made it to our shores! Produced using a mash-bill of 53% rye, this rye shows off its spice up front and balances it well with notes of fresh fruit (think pear and cherry), chopped mint and a sweet touch of honey. Presented at 45.2% ABV.
Spicy layers of rye, black pepper, and barky notes of cedar and spice are backed by toasted almonds and orchard fruit sweetness.
Warming notes of woody clove, nutty, spicy rye, peppercorns, and trickles of sweet molasses, with spiced apple loaf and honey in tow.
Sweet spices linger, with rich oak and butterscotch.

Raisins, cherry and vanilla on the nose. As some have said a weaker feel on the front mouth, but this turns into a beautiful honey finish in the back of the throat. Surprising alcohol content (45.2) for something this smooth. Drinking a litre bottle from batch 6. 4.5 stars.
For what it is it’s too expensive, it tastes too young and unbalanced. It could have spent a little more time to meld the flavours together, it all a bit separate.
