Whiskey makers in Kentucky traditionally refer to fermented grain mash as "distiller's beer", and once it is distilled and barrel-aged, a whiskey is born! The Woodford Reserve Master's Collection explores the different profiles of classic beer styles, and how these carry through to the final spirit. In this instance, we have a Kentucky straight malt whiskey that showcases the roasty flavours of rich, robust, malty stout. An exceptional sipper to follow a good dark beer.
Dusky notes of roasted malt, toasted nuts all sweetened with hints of milk chocolate and brightened with a touch of orange zest, spearmint, and warm baking spices. Oak, cherry cobbler, and shortbread round out the malt and barrel influence.
Malty with toasted hazelnut and cocoa highlights atop a layer of baked fruit, crisp spice, and zest bounce about the depths.
Malt and cocoa notes linger on.
