Becoming Scotland's northernmost mainland whisky producing distillery when it released its first single malt in March 2016, Wolfburn is built just 350m away from the ruins of the 19th century distillery from which it takes its name. With long fermentation, slow manual distillation and maturation taking place at least partly in quarter casks that previously held peated whisky from Islay, this is a release we've eagerly anticipated!
Orchard fruits, apple pie, a fresh maltiness, almonds, magnolia and a suggestion of smoke
Honey Nut Clusters breakfast cereal, sweet spices, chocolate croissant, more honey towards the end, and a subtle earthy peatiness.
Long and fresh, with even more rich honey notes
A deliciously complex single malt from one of Scotland’s newer distilleries - they are hitting it out of the park!

Young but thats fine. Light, slightly peaty, but missing the seaweed that I love so much, nevertheless its very drinksble.
My boys while in Thurso ordered a cask to be opened in 16 years I sincerely hope your products come to Canada sooner
you can smell and taste the peat influence of the islay casks; im betting on laphroaig. A light trail of smoke from nose to mouth to finish but not too much and non smoke lovers will I think not be upset. Honeyed, lightly spiced and perhaps nutty. I'm still not overly convinced with it but it's certainly very drinkable. Doubt I'd buy this, and its the first Wolfburn Ive said that about. struth
If you like peaty and smoky single malts this is one to try. I look forward to trying it aged. Very smooth for a bairn with floral, fruity and smooth subtle smoky peat finish. I will enjoy this one!
It was included in my recent Flaviar box. It is a superior single malt whiskey that drinks very smooth
