“Tried this on a whim as I had heard so much about the young whisky that was making waves. Wow and worth the punt. Yes it's young but you can taste what this is going to be and already is in the complexity and the nose. Nice that the guys are non chill filtering or colouring and releasing it this way and even at this age and at 46% you think otherwise. Great whisky, great things to come and already happening. Would have loved to tried the three year before it became four. ”

A late 2016 release from the Wolfburn distillery, matured in a combination of casks - 40% of this whisky was aged in second-fill quarter casks, 40% in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and 20% in first-fill Oloroso Sherry hogsheads. An exciting release from the distillery.

Almonds and pecans, with a wave of sweet, sticky Sherry notes.

Lingering Sherried spice on the finish.

No peat?????

Sorry people but peat is not my thing! Bought the Wolfburn Aurora as it is not peated. Sorry but oh yes it is. It’s overwhelming peat on the nose and follows to the palate. Shame they cannot just be honest. It’s horrible.

A pleasant surprise

Didn’t know what to expect as I’d never tried anything from Wolfburn before. Decided to give it a go without any pre-read notes. I was blown away by the character and flavour packed into this considering it’s clearly young.

Great stuff, wish it was easier to get.

Its a great Malt. I have been able to get it delivered. Being Maryland, that's been changed.
