A late 2016 release from the Wolfburn distillery, matured in a combination of casks - 40% of this whisky was aged in second-fill quarter casks, 40% in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and 20% in first-fill Oloroso Sherry hogsheads. An exciting release from the distillery.
Almonds and pecans, with a wave of sweet, sticky Sherry notes.
Raisins, currants, more mixed nuts and fresh barley.
Lingering Sherried spice on the finish.

I just had a daughter we named Aurora, a good friend of mine bought this liquor as a baby shower gift, I have to say this is one of the better whiskeys I have had for the price very smooth easy taste with a very nice pleasant finish I would recommend this to anybody.
Wolfburn Aurora 46% vol. Sherry Oak Maturation: 40% second-fill quarter cask of, 40% first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels, 20% first-fill Oloroso Sherry hogsheads Nose: note of dark chocolate, raisins in chocolate, cherries in chocolate, fruit, hints of coffee, malty, coconut chips (at least for a moment), pleasant and quite complex, nice balance Taste: dried fruit, bittersweet, nut mix, sherry notes, fruit jam, barrel, malt, warming, nicely hidden alcohol, all delicate, not overwhelming Finish: quite long, warming, fruity with a hint of honey and spices Very good dram, again young but nicely composed, notes of sherry are delicate, do not dominate the distillate, we do not have smoke here, it is fruity, honey and pleasantly sweet, but definitely not liqueur, very balanced sweetness.
Tried it in an event yesterday and bought a bottle. Surprisingly good for such a young whisky but I believe is a little expensive given the fact for this price I can buy an older single malt of well established distilleries.
Overpriced. Comes off like a good sipping tequila, which it is not. Too harsh.
One of the best young whiskies I've ever tried...
