Back in 1821, the original Wolfburn Distillery was founded. It would close during the Nineteenth Century, but many moons later, in 2013, the Wolfburn we know today was founded a stone's throw away from the site of the first distillery. To honour this history, Wolfburn has released a limited edition bottling celebrating its 200th anniversary. The single malt was drawn from specially selected first-fill Oloroso sherry hogsheads, and also features whisky from the first cask of Wolfburn laid down. 1,821 bottles were produced.
Oatcakes, sherried malt, apricot, and stewed apple.
More oaty warmth with chewy flapjack notes. Peppery barley leads into festive spice and jammy sultana.
A long finish, with layers of caramel and cooked fruit.
