Here we have the counterpart to William Grant's Aerstone Sea Cask, it's Land Cask! As you can probably deduce, if Sea Cask was matured in warehouses on the coast, this variant is aged in warehouses located much further inland. Another point of difference is that Land Cask is a smoky single malt thanks to the use of Highland peat, making for a sweet and smoky dram.
Earthy peat smoke and vanilla pod, with a briney note, black pepper, smoked meats and burnt rubber, with just a touch of fresh fruity sweetness.
Balanced sweet and smoky notes, with aniseed, burnt brown sugar, charred oak and salted honeycomb. Then there's olive brine, barbecued citrus fruit and smoked meats.
Sweet and smoky battle it out on the finish, with vanilla fudge and peat smoke alongside dry, spicy oak.

Tastes like tcp do not recommend , worst single malt / whiskey I’ve ever tasted
Quite strong tasting whisky, the smell is reminiscent of TCP. Plenty of smoke, but a touch too acrid and acid to be really satisfying. This is not Laphroaig 10-YO
Love it, smokey with a sweet finish £20 bargain!
Good for souces, first sip and I had to verify if I was having a 10 years old malt whisky. I paid 20 pounds and I still think it was expensive any malt from Lidl will beat this. Just hopeless.
Picked it up at the store for about $35 American. Only real point of comparison I have is a Laphroaig 10 and a Talisker Storm. It definitely leans more towards the Laphroaig, but the flavors are a bit weaker, less bold. That's bad, in my opinion, when it comes to the smokiness, but good when it comes to the briney/seawatery flavors. For the price, I'm happy with my purchase!
