A classic blend made up of 41 different whiskies. Whyte and Mackay special is a great mixer.

Neat, Whyte and Mackay is fairly characterless with an unpleasant finish, cigerette ends maybe? I normally keep a bottle in the house to use as a mixer, to which it is much more suited.
I'm a lifelong Jack Daniels drinker and this is as close to a bottle of bourbon as you'll get
I love this whisky...Deep dark smooth.
I freely confess to knowing nothing about whisky due to some youthful bad experiences drinking cheap blended whisky's but as I get a little bit older my palate is developing a taste for exploring Speyside, lowland and even Rye. I hadn't expected to be given a bottle of White and Mackay for a Christmas gift and thought it would collect some dust but having tried a small glass I was really surprised to find it was not as bad as I expected, in fact it was much better. So here goes, it has a soft mellow caramel flavour then a hint of sherry comes through, gradually progressing to a spirit sensation and then a smokey linger. It doesn't feel harsh, even for a novice like myself and thankfully very little peat tones. In fact this is a probably a good starting point and you wouldn't feel guilty about using a mixer as it is a blend after all.
It's a good blend if you can get it for £12-£14 you can definitely taste the dalmore malt in this. Tastes like Christmas Pudding.
