My go to standard Scotch. For me it's streets ahead of Grouse, Bells, Grant's, Teachers or Red Label. I like it over ice in the evening and in a flask at the Rugby. Not going to pretend it's a sip and savour Whisky but at the price point, it's pretty damn good.
Tried this for the first time and the flavours are just delicious. Better than many other blended whiskies I’ve tried and affordable too!
Smooth and nice and full of history
At this price how can you go wrong, it’s either going taste awful or you’re going to be surprised, but with this one it’s neither! You get that cheap whisky feel, grainy oily feel, yet smooth no harshness! It’s sweet, fruity blended whisky with toffee caramel pudding syrup treacle almost like a honey rum feel? But the grain is there to remind you that this is a whisky. Also to note there is warmth sweet the more you get in to it. Probably use a wide open glass for airing.
Whyte and Mackay is my go to evening dram. My late father always had it and Dewars in the cupboard. I like it neat over ice. For me it has more depth than Bells, Teachers, Grouse or Grant's. At the price point, I think it's unbeatable.
