Back in October 2019, the folks at Whyte & Mackay gave whisky geeks the chance to win this fabulously rare 50 Year Old whisky. 1,500 bottles were released at 44.6% ABV, having been matured in a plethora of casks, with bourbon barrels, Matusalem Oloroso sherry butts, a single Tawny Port pipe and 30 year old Apostoles sherry butts. After half a century of waiting, the blend was finally bottled up and released.

2021 Winner Jim Murray's Whisky Bible, and rightly so. I still have half a bottle left, and bring it out on special occasions, a beautiful whisky which is only going to get more scarce.
Fantastic whisky, had the chance to taste this from sample bottle. Deep fruit, sherry, Morello. Layers of flavour.. Has to be the best blend I have tasted. Pricey otherwise I'd buy me a bottle, based on what I tasted I would guess this one may be highly sought by lovers of deep complex aged whisky and collectors alike.
