This edition of Wire Works English single malt from Derbyshire's White Peak distillery was initially matured in first-fill bourbon barrels before finishing for two years in the distillery's own rum casks. Sweet notes of icing sugar, candied pineapple, jellied fruits, and summer berries join creamy layers of vanilla, white chocolate, and lemon posset.
Juicy tropical fruit salad and ripe banana are supported by gentle peat smoke, with zesty citrus, shortbread, and burnt custard.
A touch of herbaceous spice arrives for the finish, with candied orange peels, gingersnap biscuits, and delicate smoke.
