Wire Works Port Cask
This whisky from English brand Wire Works is a vatting of fresh Tawny Port barriques from Dias Cooperage with first-fill American oak bourbon barrels. Expect that cask to add dried fruit, aromatic spice, and a pretty pink hue to the liquid. The English whisky was bottled at 50.2% ABV, non-chill filtered and no added colouring. It's the third whisky in the distillery’s refreshed Wire Works Provenance Core Range, alongside Caduro and Bourbon Barrel.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Black cherries, marmalade, dark chocolate, toasted almonds, and bonfire smoke.
Palate
Candied orange peel, treacle, blackcurrant jam, cinnamon, and a hint of cigar box.
Finish
Clove and cinnamon linger with mocha coffee.
