
Another release in the Wemyss Malts Batch Strength series, this is the second expression of Peat Chimney. This blended malt marries particularly peaty single malts, as the name suggests, and only 9,000 bottles were released. A warming and delicately smoky whisky right here.
A good maritime influence, with notes of seared scallops and charred seaweed alongside wet rope.
Smoky and spicy cured meats, a good helping of paprika and salt. An underlying minerality is balanced by orchard fruits and a squeeze of lemon juice, underpinned by an intense smokiness.
Sweet, smoky and lingering.
