A single malt Irish whiskey from the Cooley distillery, Tyrconnell is incredibly creamy and smooth.
Sweet and crisp with orchard fruits and a malty character. Oaked dryness and an oily note.
Full and sweet with barley malt and hot buttered granary toast with honey.
Dry and grassy with a little spice.

I think you have to pay A LOT more to get a better tasting Irish single malt, and I am not going to do that. This is the one for my shelf.
In the early 1900,s my great grand dad had a pub in Omagh and yes he sold the Tyrconnell . A dram that could have been made by the Angels if they had a mind to .
Had Tyrconnell as a substitute for Bushmills and it was outstanding. Best Irish Whiskey I have ever tasted.
And not in a pleasant way. At first I thought it was "interesting," but the more I drink of it the more unpleasant and less interesting it becomes.
The finish was spice and peaty which lasted longer than any before. An hour of enjoyment from a wee dram. Yes: 5 of 5. Brought to me by my fellow book printer-friend Graham Moss, Thank-you.
