A light, creamy, and tasty single grain here from Irish whiskey makers Two Stacks. The Double Barrel name refers to its maturation bourbon and oloroso sherry butts.
Toasted almonds, baked apple, orange peel, and cinnamon.
There's more sherried influence here with dried fruit, oily nuts, nutmeg, and dark chocolate.
Sweet and spicy
I’ve only sampled a few single grain whiskies in my time and this one is absolutely my favourite - lovely sherry notes throughout and despite only being 43% it’s Natural Colour and Non Chill Filtered it makes a difference! Very much an easy recommendation!
