Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 1962
52 year old single malt from Tullibardine, drawn from a pair of American oak casks that were laid down all the way back in 1962 - the distillery had only been open for about 13 years at that point! After over half a decade of maturation, this expression has developed a rich and complex flavour profile, and the distillers have deemed with worthy of joining Tullibardine's Custodians Collection, which is reserved for incredibly well-aged whiskies.
On the nose delicate floral aromas are reminiscent of the heather in bloom on the surrounding Ochil Hills. The addition of water reveals layers of citrus fruits and pineapple with subtle aromas of desiccated coconut. Fresh malt flavours are evident on taste evolving into delicate allspice and subtle dark chocolate to finish.
