Tullibardine
Scotland
Single Malt
Distilled at Tullibardine in the Highlands, this is a very tasty new whisky which was finished in a 225 litre cask (thus the name) which previously held maturing Sauternes dessert wine from Chateau Suduiraut. The result is a golden-coloured single malt with a deliciously creamy, fruity flavour.
Citrus peels and allspice. Notes of creamy vanilla, golden syrup, cocoa butter and black pepper.
Spiced palate entry with notes of candied orange and Seville marmalade. A little dried pineapple and white chocolate.
Medium finish with lingering sweet spices.
Superbly fruity whisky with a lovely influence from a dessert wine cask.
First time with tullibardine really liked it sweet fruity and can take a splash of water which smooths things out and brings out more flavours. Seems to be natural colour and slightly higher strength not sure if it's non chill filtered if it is print it on the label but it should be. This distillery is off the radar but now I'm interested.
Great smooth finish
On the nose you have a joint selfie of melon and vanilla – with bread photobombing the view. But the palate is more focused: delicious French pastries and freshly cut fruit. Tannic and warming.
Very fruity good finish a highly enjoyable drop, got mine direct from the distillery. Enjoyable perhaps a bit too light in the finish and does not linger long enough, but a pleasant drop and very fruit which is pleasant but one at a time or can seem of light.
