The 'D.E.W.' in Tullamore D.E.W. comes from the initials of a General Manager at the Tullamore distillery in the later 19th Century, named Daniel E. Williams.
Fruity and biscuity. There are gristy notes with caramel and toffee sweetness and plenty of peels.
Good body with notes of sherried peels and spice, granary toast with butter and honey, grains and vanilla cream.
Quite vegetal and long with notes of caramel and toffee.

It's lovely!
Nice n tasty warming and a good aftertaste well recommended
Smooth, tasty, but mellow with just enough body.
Full bodied slightly oily and flavourful, with a decent long-lasting finish. Fairly simple flavour profiles, mostly banana bread and raisin sweetness with butter and a back-of-the-mouth zesty peel feel. Spikey young feeling to it which expands and rounds off after the first few seconds and becomes smooth and buttery in the mouth. Long lasting, oily, and slightly spicey, almost a pepper on the finish.
I open this one up with a little chilled water and find that the nose immediately offers up tinned peaches in syrup with vanilla ice cream. That hit of vanilla slides right across the palette and becomes soft, oaky but with the tang of metallic alcohol as it goes down. Absolutely no peat and no smoke so it doesn't have a long finish but overall it provides plenty to keep an amateur drinker happy, particularly at this price.
