The 'D.E.W.' in Tullamore D.E.W. comes from the initials of a General Manager at the Tullamore distillery in the later 19th Century, named Daniel E. Williams.
Fruity and biscuity. There are gristy notes with caramel and toffee sweetness and plenty of peels.
Good body with notes of sherried peels and spice, granary toast with butter and honey, grains and vanilla cream.
Quite vegetal and long with notes of caramel and toffee.
Smooth and sweet. Great with ice.
Light, vanilla and butter on the palate. Very easy drinking with a nice finish. Lovely on ice or on its own.
This is a weird whisky, very vapoury and harsh with the alcohol, I rarely pour Whiskey away but I cleaned by drains with this. It is the worst Irish whisky I have ever tasted. I do remember having Tullamore in a pub many years ago, but this stuff is made at some new distillery. I think it used to be made by Jamesons distillery. Anyway this is not anywhere near as good as Jamesons, Bushmills or even supermarket blends.
Smooth, good aftertaste
