The 'D.E.W.' in Tullamore D.E.W. comes from the initials of a General Manager at the Tullamore distillery in the later 19th Century, named Daniel E. Williams.
Fruity and biscuity. There are gristy notes with caramel and toffee sweetness and plenty of peels.
Good body with notes of sherried peels and spice, granary toast with butter and honey, grains and vanilla cream.
Quite vegetal and long with notes of caramel and toffee.
My favourite muscle relaxer! Excellent price-duality ratio.
It's very harsh, almost acidic. I've no idea why there are reviews calling this 'smooth' because it's anything but smooth. I tried to continue this bottle with cola, ginger ale, pepsi, and 7-up, and it made all of them undrinkable too.
Undrinkable - must be the new distillery - it used to be OK!
Not an awful lot going on. Very feeble on the nose and has a bit of a sickly aftertaste. It doesn't compare with my favourite triple distilled Hazelburn 10 yo.
Very smooth. Like to add a few drops of water and then it becomes even more mellow. This is after dinner whiskey. (R)
