If you liked Torabhaig Allt Gleann, a decidedly smoky, maritime, and gently fruity single malt from the Isle of Skye, then feast your eyes on this Batch Strength edition!
Torabhaig's way of saying farewell to the Allt Gleann chapter of its Legacy Series, the characterful notes of bonfire smoke, salinity, sweet vanilla, and woody spice found in the original whisky have been amped up at a generous 61.1% ABV, ideal for those who like things a little more powerful.
Oaky vanilla, beach bonfire smoke, cigar box, and lemon peel. bonfire smoke, salinity, maltiness, and sweet, vanilla-led oaky spice.
The peat smoke continues, with oily citrus, hints of tropical fruit, vanilla biscuits, and a medicinal undertone.
A touch floral, with orchard fruit, savoury peat smoke, and sea salt.
Torabhaig is relatively new so their range is small. I previously tasted Allt Gleann which had promising taste. I dud think it was too thin, almost unfinished. Well jumped to this batch strength to see if it got more texture. And boy does it! This is more of Islay peat bomb and kicks Talisker in the head. Amazing stuff, and gives hope for special drams coming from Torabhaigh
