Following their 1981 Vintage Single Cask, Tomintoul have dug out an even older single malt whisky, this one coming from April 1977! After a lengthy maturation in a sherry cask, the whisky was bottled in May 2013, without chill-filtration or colouring, with an outrun of 312 beautiful bottles, which come in rather handsome presentation boxes.
Seductive fruitcake, brimming with sultanas, nuts and a sprinkle of spices.
The luxurious sherry notes, rich and full, are balanced well with hints of tobacco and oak spices.
Crumbly fudge and vanilla.
An incredible mature single malt.

A gorgeous whisky. Lovely deep flavour and warmth, combined with smoothness. It has real depth and you can taste the time it's been in the cask. Such an enjoyable whisky. Reminds me and my partner of the Knockando 21-year-old.
An incredible dram. Perfect color. Super smooth. Just love whiskey without the chill filtration or coloring. The sherry notes are perfect. Truly an incredible mature single malt. One of the very best if you like a gentle dram. My personal favorite.
