Tomintoul 17 Year Old Sherry Cask #PX1
A wonderfully sherried bottling of Tomintoul, which, after it was distilled in April 2001, spent the next 17 years in a single Pedro Ximénez sherry butt. The single malt was finally freed from its cask in September 2018, when it was bottled at 57.4% ABV with an outturn of 625 bottles.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
A hefty slice of Christmas cake, candied orange peel and oodles of dried fruit.
Palate
Another slice of Christmas cake, lovely, warming and full of spices, with a gentle nuttiness.
Finish
Spice returns on a rather dry finish.
