    Tomintoul 16 Year Old

This is the 16-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from the Tomintoul distillery, matured in selected bourbon casks. It was crafted by fourth-generation distiller, Robert Fleming and it's his go-to malt to this day. Rather elegant and flavoursome, this one.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Medium-bodied and punchy. There are notes of stemmy cut hay and dried grasses, a leafy green note and a touch of rooty earth and fudge.

    Palate

Notes of boiled sweets, espresso, mochaccino, ground almonds and granary toast with melted butter. Vanilla fudge and thick cream.

    Finish

The finish is of good length with notes almond and barley sugar.

    great scotch for the price

This is most certainly a wonderful scotch for the price. It was $60 in upstate ny, got home, sat down after dinner with a bit in a glass, and it didnt have a bit, some fruity and earthy undertones, and a semi-sweet aroma. I certainly will keep on hand.

    Good

It's good, nothing more than that. I did not find this to be exciting, but I did like it. For the price, it would make a good everyday whisky.
