    Tomintoul 16 Year Old

This is the 16-year-old single malt Scotch whisky from the Tomintoul distillery, matured in selected bourbon casks. It was crafted by fourth-generation distiller, Robert Fleming and it's his go-to malt to this day. Rather elegant and flavoursome, this one.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Medium-bodied and punchy. There are notes of stemmy cut hay and dried grasses, a leafy green note and a touch of rooty earth and fudge.

    Palate

Notes of boiled sweets, espresso, mochaccino, ground almonds and granary toast with melted butter. Vanilla fudge and thick cream.

    Finish

The finish is of good length with notes almond and barley sugar.

    Late spring with vanilla

Just had my first dram. Easy on the palate. Doesn't overwhelm and very enjoyable. Smooth vanilla with a late spring taste. About to have a second to flush out some of the other notes. Medium finish.

    I want more please.

Wish I could get this 16 year old delicious, smooth whisky in Cambridge Ontario. Not available at LCBO and you don't ship here, sadly.

    The smoothest I’ve had

Having tried dozens of different single malts over the years, with a taste that runs heavily toward the Speysides, I must say that this is a beautiful whiskey which can be enjoyed at a price that doesn’t put it out of reach for the average drinker. In fact, if I could only buy one single malt the rest of my life (as opposed to some fantasy of being given anything out there), this would be the one.

You may not like it but you’ll never convince me that you think it’s the worst.

I’m only disappointed that since my introduction some 10 years ago, I’ve had difficulty finding it, keeping it and giving it up! I prefer it over my $300 and even a more recent much higher price bottle! Always keep one in the cellar!

It may not be the best but none is better.

It’s excellent. Very Smooth Very similar to glenlevet As for the 26 year olds comment. What you know at 26 you can put in an ants asshole and have room left over. Excellent single malt scotch.
