Tomatin distillery's new no-age-statement release uses virgin oak as well as bourbon casks. It provides a new entry level to the Tomatin range but the use of different casks make this a unique expression.
Lemon, panatella and pine forest. Slightly green with vanilla.
Cracked pepper and sweet barley with pineapple cube sweets. Waves of warming oak beneath.
Sweet but peppered.
A clean and certainly affordable single malt whisky.

Very very good.
Not a huge amount of flavour and a slightly dodgy after taste. Each to their own I suppose. My wife loves it so what do I know, but I go with those who reckon it's immature and lacking flavour. I wouldn't buy it again, put it that way, but I will drink it.
First time taster. I like it! IMO just as good as 10yr old Glenmorangie. I give it 5 stars for the quality vs price.
On the nose, toffee and something. A bit strange smell. Not so great. But taste is different thing. Lots of sweat vanilla and toffee and it stays for a long time. Then, slowly the spiciness starts building up and boom, Grand finale! Beautiful. And it's cheap, 38€. Yes, i know. People from middle-europe just choked on their dram. It's cheap in Finland.
Bought a bottle of this at my supermarket in Western Japan for £20, a super deal for a well-balanced and curious NAS. On the nose- toffee straight away, followed by molasses and honey, and warm leather. On the palate- fresh oak, slight oiliness and oats. Dry herbs and long, woody finish.
