Supremely stunning single malt from Tomatin, this 50 year old expression celebrates the distillery’s 125th anniversary! Distilled in August 1971, the whisky was transferred to a first-fill oloroso sherry butt in 2008, where it remained until June 2022. The whisky is housed in a Glencairn crystal decanter which rests in an opulent Italian-crafted wooden box, lined with Italian leather. Also included is a solid brass, gold plated stopper for the decanter, and a miniature 50ml bottle, so you can have a taste of this delicious nectar, and raise a glass to the tremendous Tomatin distillery! A release of just 125 bottles.
In true celebratory fashion, this single malt is bursting with aroma. Dried tropical fruits are first to greet the nose before a mix of nuts, dark chocolate, and honey. Much like the history of Tomatin itself, the palate is slow to open with gentle hints of fresh orange and apricot, it then becomes more intense with notes of dried fruit and spices before a wave of oloroso sherry driven flavours. The flavour recedes, leaving an elegant, rich sweetness to linger.

Would be nice to review but seeing as I can't afford it I can only say it sounds awesome. Would be nice to taste it as I only prefer to drink whisky. My hubby was a Cooper in his younger years.
