Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 1988

A well-aged expansion to Tomatin's core range, the 1988 vintage single malt Scotch whisky is created from a mixture of bourbon barrel and Port pipe-matured whiskies, which slumbered in their casks for over 25 years. Top work from the Tomatin distillery in the Highlands.
This bottle was part of a private collection and will show signs of wear if of a certain vintage - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
Jammy and sweet up front, hints of strawberries and fresh melon. Ginger and oak warmth. Good hit of sugary vanilla in there too, and maybe a bit of smoke.
Mouth-coating and rich, plenty of cake-y vanilla and honey. Stone fruit, white pepper and once again the smoke wafts in.
Long and honey'd. Final splash of fresh fruits.
The Port pipes have had quite an affect on this one, and goes very well with the classic Highland notes.

Listed as "at least 25 years," this old single malt appears to be a good value. Gentle nose with light oak and strawberries, leading to a fruity, soft body. Surprisingly thin mouthfeel, even at 46%, followed by a short finish.
