Tomatin
Scotland
Single Malt
An 18 year old from the Tomatin distillery, finished in Spanish oak Oloroso sherry butts.
The nose is quite punchy and of good body. There are notes of chewy grape and sultana with winter spice; cloves and cinnamon. There are notes of vanilla fudge and a most supple of smokes, weaving gracefully in cut grasses and apple peels. The palate is quite sweet and full. There are notes of barley sugar and honeycomb. Hints of chocolate orange and cocoa dusted liberally on toasty oak. The finish is long and powerful with a dry, chewy oak and a touch of pepper.
Rich and sherried, with orchard, citrus and dried fruit – apples, oranges and sultanas.
Sweet and honeyed, with a backbone of citrus, fruit cake, chocolate and spice.
Long and warming spice fades to leave fruit and chocolate.

Amazing taste , you can’t taste the alcohol in this if you take the 14 year old there is a strong alcoholic tast to it... the 18y Has a smooth and soft taste
Picked up a bottle for $100 after reading reviews. Being the only 18 ive had except JW Platinum and Chivas 18. I was suprised at how much better it was then the 12yo Tomatin. On the palate i get a dark caramel note with spiced oak in the background. Touch of citrus comes through at the end. Finish is long with more spices and honey at the end. All and all i was very happy with it and would recommend to anyone who likes a rich complex scotch. Not as smooth as a Glenfarclas 21 but much more flavor to offer.
Love this one, I find it Exactly comparable to the Glenfiddich 18, but with a better finish for half the price. I pay $73 with tax in New Jersey. 46% abv is also a huge plus.
very good whisky and at a good price. will defo buy again!
This is one of the most flavourful and pleasant tasting scothches I've had in quite some time. The perfect combination of peat and barley.
