Tomatin 15 Year Old 2006 (cask 17601408) - Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon & MacPhail)

A cracking single malt from Tomatin, distilled in 2006 and matured for 15 years in a single refill American hogshead. In 2022, the team at Gordon & MacPhail took a little peek inside the cask and decided the whisky was good and ready, releasing a total of 315 bottles for the Connoisseurs Choice series.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Buttery barley and crisp green apples open the way for floral honey and fleshy pear.

    Palate

Cooked orchard fruits balance hints of herbal malt while creamy vanilla coats the palate. Flaky fruit pastries and drying oak spice lead to prickles of pepper and ginger.

    Finish

Tannic oak, with candied nuts and spiced currant buns in tow, lifted by vibrant citrus and lingering stewed fruits.
